It was wave after wave of excitement as Tupelo Middle School students took to the wood floor gym against teachers in a basketball game on Monday, Feb. 26, 2007.
Action was fast paced in the first round as the Lady Wave took on their teachers, who showed they still were able to bring the crowd to their feet. After 30 minutes of full court action, the game ended in a tie at 38.
During the intermission, a teacher's cheerleading squad performed and capped off the performance with a pyramid. Also male students walked the runway during a beauty review. Students voted during the week before the event and Dylan Vuncannon was crowned queen with Senquay Eichelberger as runner up.
It was back to the hoops after the beauty review with the Tupelo Wave boys taking on the male faculty. The game was non-stop action as members of both teams shot the hoops. In the end, the coaches and teachers won the game 35 to 30.
