The Tupelo Public School District has received information concerning the alleged misconduct of one of its employees. This alleged misconduct occurred on a private trip to Florida during the Thanksgiving holiday break and did not involve any Tupelo student. When the Tupelo Public School District was informed of this alleged misconduct, the employee was immediately separated from all student contact and placed on administrative leave pending investigation. The school district’s investigation is ongoing, and we have shared our information with the appropriate authorities.
The employee is entitled to rights of due process, and until we learn what the employee will do concerning these rights, comments from the Tupelo Public School District will be limited.
The Tupelo Public School District is appreciative to those responsible for sharing information concerning the allegations with us. As a result, we were able to initiate swift action to protect our students and to protect the integrity of our school district.
We want to thank the community for its support of the Tupelo Public Schools and how it supports us in helping keep our students safe.
