Shawn Brevard was elected as President of the Board of Trustees.
John Nail was elected as Vice-President of the Board of Trustees.
Mike Clayborne was elected as Secretary of the Board of Trustees.
Lee Tucker was given the oath of office to become a member of the Board of Trustees.

Mrs. Linda Clifton, principal of Tupelo Middle School, welcomed everyone to the Band Hall in the Fine Arts wing on the TMS campus.

A.  FY08 Budget Concepts
The Board was given information on capital projects for 2008.

B.  MSBA Legislative Update/School Law Review
The Legislative Update and School Law Review Conference is scheduled for Tuesday, April 24, 2007.  This session is sponsored by MSBA and MSBA Council of School Board Attorneys.   Discussion was held regarding this meeting and the conflict with our scheduled April 24 Board meeting.  This will be revisited at the next meeting of the board.  At this time, it seems that no members will attend.

C.  National Conference on Education, American Association of School Administrators
A summary of information regarding Dr. McCoy’s recent participation at the National conference on Education, AASA, on March 1-4, 2007 was provided.

D.  Administrative Retreat Dates
This summer’s Administrative Retreat dates have been set for June 20, 21, and 22, 2007.

E.  Rankin elementary Floor Slab Report
Information was provided regarding floor slab findings at Rankin Elementary School.

F.  Drop-Out Prevention Strategies
Information regarding five goals and strategies to prevent drop-outs were provided.  Some of these will be implemented in the 2007-2008 school year.  The law requires that a definite plan be in place by the 2008-2009 school year.
