Discussion on criteria for school facilities
Recommendations for consideration from last meeting:
§ Grow the early childhood learning
§ Maintain the socio-economic and racial diversity at a variance of no more than 5% of that
reflected by the community
§ Maintain a 15:1 ratio in K-1 as well as implementing the school district long-range plan of
15:1 in grades 2-3.
Additional discussion on school grade configuration was held.
Discuss alternative criteria
§ Mr. Bryson led a discussion of alternative and/or additional criteria that needed to be
considered for the parameters of populating our schools. He will compile these criteria
and discuss/present them at the next meeting.
School Grade Grouping Models – Mr. Meadows
§ Mr. Meadows gave the update on Scenarios 1 and 2 that were presented at the last
meeting. This update included race and socio-economic diversity.
