Profiles of Excellence

The vision of the Tupelo Public School District is to become the leading district in the State of Mississippi and one of the best in the nation. While we are not aware of any definitive list for use in identifying the leading districts in our country, researchers have studied high performing schools. These schools were found to have several common areas:

the principal was a strong instructional leader,
learning opportunities were designed to challenge all students,
an aligned, articulated, coherent curriculum,
utilization of assessment of data to make instructional decisions,
focus on professional growth and development,
emphasis on communication between school and district leaders

TPSD Website visitors are invited to review the following �Profiles of Excellence� for the Tupelo Public School District as well as each of the individual schools. The �Profiles of Excellence� have been compiled to provide information in the areas of leadership, staffing, organization, communication, and safety excellence.
