During the month of November, once again this year, the Rankin BACKPACC club is promoting a canned food drive for the Sanctuary Hospice House. The BACKPACC club is an acronym for Become A Caring Kid, Produce A Caring Community. Our 3rd and 2nd grade BACKPACC clubs decided to host this worthy cause and are asking all their classmates to bring canned foods. They have designed posters and flyers and prepared collection boxes located in Koala Park. The club set a goal of 1300 cans because last year, Rankin donated 1008 cans. We will sort the cans into categories (fruits, vegetables, meats, soups), notice the different labels/brands and sizes, count, discuss food groups and make an eduated guess of which category we'll collect the most!! Please support our canned food drive.
* An extra note, the THS Student Council has asked for our help in collecting canned foods for the Salvation Army. We will encourage our students to bring cans to the football game on November 9.
