Due to the weather on October 22, the original day for the Kindergarten trip to the Great Pumpkin Patch in Blue Springs, we have rescheduled this exciting trip to TUESDAY, OCTOBER 30. We will leave at 8:15 a.m. that morning. Be sure to bring along a jacket.
We've been studying a unit on Changes. In this unit the children are noticing how the weather affects the world around them. Through this unit we will also be discussing the differences in night and day how and why we should respect our environment and pumpkins (& other veggies).
We will also be discussing how pumpkins are grown the week prior to our trip to the pumpkin patch. We will be sequencing the growth of the pumpkin, from seed to what we buy at a pumpkin patch or at a store. We believe that providing these children with this opportunity will give them a personal experience that they will be able to tell others about and write about on their own.
