For the third year, Pierce Street students have benefited from a writing grant funded by the local Association for Excellence in Education (AEE).  Every student in the school wrote and illustrated a hard bound book.  The students were recognized for their accomplishments during Authors’ Teas held for each grade level during the week of April 21-25.  Parents and other family members were impressed by the books and enjoyed the refreshments provided by our own wonderful PTO! 

     During the week of the Authors’ Teas, we were very pleased to find out that our writing grant for the 2008-2009 school term will also be funded by AEE.  “Authors Abound: Writing All Around” will continue to provide every student at Pierce Street the opportunity to use their writing and illustration skills while making a special keepsake of their school year.
