Did You Know? Pierce Street Elementary School has its very own crisis team. Their job is to arrange practice drills with our faculty and children to better prepare for fires, tornadoes, evacuations, etc. All of our field trips are carefully screened before they are approved by the Tupelo Public School District Office. The district does this to ensure that our field trips are safe, well planned, and educational. Tupelo Middle School, Pierce Street Elementary School and the Mississippi Department of Transportation partnered to create the Transploreum. This building is used to create an interest in math and science using the transportation theme. Pierce Street Elementary School has its very own weather tower. This tower is state of the art and the students can view the weather forecast each day on the weather monitor in our hallway. John Delousic, WTVA meterologist, broadcast the weather from our school using the information from our weather tower. Thanks to AEE for the grant money that made this possible at our school!
