

RED RIBBON WEEK CELEBRATION
OCTOBER 22 - 26
THEME: BELIEVE*ACHIEVE*SUCCEED*DRUG FREE
Monday, October 22: "COUNT ON ME TO BE DRUG FREE/WEAR RED" DAY
Students will have the opportunity to guess how many treats are in the jar for prizes. There will be on candy-filled jar per grade. Students can also enter the poster contest. Posters will be due on Wednesday. Don't forget to wear "RED".
TUESDAY, OCTOBER 23: "LEIS OFF DRUGS" DAY
Students may wear Hawaiian attire. Leis will be given to each student. There will be a Red Ribbon Week Assembly. Sheriff Jim Johnson will be the guest speaker. The Lawndale Student Council will also present a skit. The assembly will begin at 1:00 p.m. for 4th and 5th grade students. The 6th grade assembly will begin at 2:00 p.m.
WEDNESDAY, OCTOBER 24: "PUT A CAP ON DRUGS" DAY
Students may wear their craziest hat or wig. The craziest teacher hat or wig will be recognized. Prizes will be awarded.
THURSDAY, OCTOBER 25: JOIN THE FIGHT AGAINST DRUGS
Students may wear camouflage. Each student will be given a bookmark.
FRIDAY, OCTOBER 26: "MIX IT" DAY (DRUGS AND I DON'T MIX)
Students may wear mismatched clothes. The worst dressed teacher will receive a prize. Poster contest winners will be announced. There will be three winners from each grade
Lawndale Student Council will announce a drug fact over the intercom each day.
