Joyner Procedures for Arrival / Departure
Arrival procedure for bus riders
- Bus riders should arrive at school no earlier than 7:15 a.m.
- Bus riders will unload in the bus drive-through on Lee Street.
- Bus riders will report to the cafeteria for breakfast or to a specified area determined by the school principal until 7:30 a.m.
- Staff members and campus security officers will be on duty to supervise students safely to their proper destination.
Departure procedure for bus riders
- Bus riders will be dismissed beginning at 2:30 p.m. by grade level.
- Bus riders will load in the bus drive–through on Lee Street.
- Staff members will monitor students to the appropriate loading destination and Assist the students safely aboard.
Arrival procedure for car riders
- Car riders should arrive at school no earlier than 7:15 a.m.
- Do not block the bus drive–through on Lee Street.
- For the safety of the student, do not allow the student to cross Joyner Avenue at Lee Street unassisted.
- If turning from Lee Street or Long Street, proceed onto Joyner Avenue in the through-traffic lane. Do not pull into the parking lane from Long Street.
- Only enter the carpool lane from Pinehurst Drive. Never enter the carpool lane from Lee Street.
- Car riders unloading on Long Street will be safely escorted across the street by the crossing guard.
- No car riders will be allowed to unload from the through-traffic lane.
- To avoid traffic congestion, after the student has been safely unloaded, go all the way up to Marshal Street before making a left hand turn.
- Only enter the parking lane by traveling south on Joyner Avenue. Pull all the way up to allow space for others to park.
- Staff members and campus security officers will be on duty to supervise students safely to their proper destination.
Departure procedure for car riders
- Car riders will be dismissed beginning at 2:30 p.m. by grade level.
- Leave Lee Street clear for buses and daycare vans.
- Do not block the bus drive–through.
- For the safety of the student, do not allow the student to cross Joyner Avenue at Lee Street unassisted.
- If turning from Lee Street or Long Street, proceed onto Joyner Avenue in the through-traffic lane. Do not pull into the parking lane from Long Street.
- Only enter the carpool lane from Pinehurst Drive. Never enter the carpool lane from Lee Street.
- No car riders will be allowed to load from the through-traffic lane.
- To avoid traffic congestion, after the student has been safely loaded, go all the way up to Marshal Street before making a left hand turn.
- Only enter the parking lane by traveling south on Joyner Avenue. Pull all the way up to allow space for others to park. Pull forward as space is made available.
- Fill in the parking lane before filling in the carpool lane.
- Assigned staff members will monitor students to the appropriate loading destination and assist the students safely to the appropriate car.
Arrival procedure for daycare
- Daycare bus riders should arrive at school no earlier than 7:15 a.m.
- Daycare bus riders will unload in the bus drive-through on Lee Street.
- Staff members and campus security officers will be on duty to supervise students safely to their proper destination.
Departure procedure for daycare
- Daycare bus riders will be dismissed at 2:30 p.m. by grade level.
- Daycare bus riders will load in the bus drive–through on Lee Street.
- Staff members will monitor students to the appropriate loading destination and assist the students safely aboard.
Arrival procedure for walkers
- Walkers should arrive at school no earlier than 7:15 a.m.
- Walkers will not be allowed to cross Joyner Avenue at Lee Street unless an authorized adult is accompanying them. There will not be a crossing guard to escort students safely across the intersection.
- Walkers should cross the street in front of the school at Joyner Avenue and Long Street with the assistance of the crossing guard.
- Staff members and campus security officers will be on duty to supervise students safely to their proper destination.
Departure procedure for walkers
- Walkers will be dismissed at 2:30 p.m. by grade level.
- Walkers will not be allowed to cross Joyner Avenue at Lee Street unless authorized adult is accompanying them. There will not be a crossing guard to escort students safely across the intersection.
- Walkers should cross the street in front of the school at Joyner Avenue and Long Street with the assistance of the crossing guard.
- Staff members will monitor students safely off campus.
