On October 19, 2007, Joyner had its first Accelerated Reader program of the school year. We started the program with two classrooms doing a Reader's Theatre story for the students. Both classes did a great job showing us how much fun reading can be. After the awards were given out, a few teachers, known as the A.R. Choir, sang a song for the student body. The song was written by one of the choir members and is titled, "Read On, Joyner." The students were able to see how fun it is to read.
